Ilese Day holds August 9

The ancient community of Ilese will be filled beyond capacity during the annual Ilese Day carnival that will commence on August 3 and end with a thanksgiving service on August 10, 2025.
According to the Baba-Oba of Elese who doubles  as the Bobatolu of Ilese, Otunba Kayode Odusanya, the 2025 Ilese Day Carnival will be outstanding and be the best in recent years.

The Community leader with passion for nation building revealed that the annual carnival will witness several side attractions which include quiz competition among public schools, free eye screening, beauty pageant among other interesting programmes.
The carnival groups are expected to add glamour and flavour to the annual ritual as they will entertain guests with series of talented displays.
Baba Odusanya revealed that the annual Ilese Day carnival is the second largest carnival in Ogun State and it will continue to set the pace while others follow. He pointed out that the event is imperative to the development of the community as proceeds  generated from the annual carnival is used  to attract several impactful projects to the community.

He enumerated some of the key projects that have been undertaken by the Ilese Development Council, which warehouses all the development initiatives in the community, to include a befitting palace for the Elese of Ilese, a police station, among other projects.
The annual Ilese Day Carnival has been a project that has continued to attract tourists to the community in the last twenty years emphasising the need for grassroots development.

The pioneer planning committee Chairman was a prudent legal luminary Otunba Kunle Kalejaiye {SAN} as he served the community diligently for fifteen years before he handed over to a renowned Chartered Accountant, Otunba Sola Mogaji, who has  continued to build on the positive  legacies of his predecessor in office.
The first, second and the third winners of the beauty pageant will go home with fat envelopes while the carnival groups will also smile to the bank.
